Yasser Ballemans (Breda 1981, lives and works in Amsterdam) studied Fine Arts at the AKV/ST Joost in Breda and got his Master Fine Arts at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, after which he became an artist and a curator, consultant and producer. He works with sculpture, installation and performance and has exhibited widely in galleries, museums and in public space in Europe and Asia. In 2010 he won the Grand Prize at the International Biennale of Contemporary Ceramics in Vallauris, France.
Carnival is the ultimate festivity in which alternate identities are created with music, attributes, dance and dress to shape unspoken feelings, stories, frustrations, desires and passions. In PARK Yasser Ballemans creates with 'Carnal Farewell’ a playful reflection on this folk festival.
It is our pleasure to invite you to the opening of this exhibition on Saturday January 9 at 4 pm. Musical performance by Pim Kersten.
