KOMMA #45 - composition
10.05 2025

Vladislav Chlek (1994) is a versatile music composer and sound artist known for blending 20th century classical music with diverse non-classical genres, such as various sub-genres of modern metal/rock. His innovative compositions captivate listeners with their eclectic fusion and dynamic allure.
Vlad's fascination with cinema, especially art house and festival films, inspires his work, often integrating filmelements into his music. A notable project is 'Interstice', an audio-visual installation exploring human consciousness and the nature of existence through a compelling narrative of a struggling artist. Leading the experimental music project 'A Dream That I Just Woke Up From', Vlad explores post-rock, modern metal, and electronic/ambient soundscapes, characterized by unconventional instrumentation and immersive compositions.
Educated at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg, Vlad completed his Master of Music Composition, gaining a strong foundation in theory and practice. His work has been featured at prestigious festivals like Ars Electronica and ISCM World Music Days, and he has collaborated with ensembles such as I SOLISTI and Orkest de Ereprijs.

Vlad reacts to the exhibition Novel Tongues. The performance is on Saturday, May 10 at 3.30 pm.
