Marieke van de Ven makes sound walks, podcasts, audio stories, electroacoustic compositions and field recordings. She is inspired by sounds from her environment. Sounds from the nature of the city; a rattling gear, a falling glass. By listening carefully to these sounds, she investigates the musicality and stories hidden in them. At the intersection of concrete sounds, text, interviews and field recordings, Marieke explores the relationship between sound and story.
Marieke reacts to the exhibition 'Parallel Motion' by Esther Tielemans and Katleen Vinck. The performance is on Saturday, June 15 at 3.30 pm.
