Jasper Stadhouders (1989) is a guitarist, bassist, improviser, composer, bandleader, and concert organizer. He is an active member of the international improvised music circuit and a member of the Amsterdam musicians’ collective DOEK.
Stadhouders has made an explosive rise in the international improvised music scene. His playing shows a completely natural musicality. You get the sense that he is so connected to his instrument that he can play anything he can imagine. His ability to perform complex compositions with a strong sense of rhythm and harmony, combined with his highly physical and dynamic approach to improvisation, has made him one of the most sought-after guitarists and electric bassists.
Stadhouders is also the founder of the PolyBand. The PolyBand consists of an ever-growing pool of musicians and performers in various lineups and sizes, focusing on polyrhythmic cycles and trance-like long sound forms.
