From July 10 until August 26 PARK hosts Bas Ketelaars as artist in residence.
Main focus of PARK are stand alone solo and group exhibitions of emerging and mid-career contemporary artists. In addition the space is regularly used as place of production. An annual artist in residence-program concludes the repertoire.
The past call for summer residents was open to all artists working in the field of contemporary fine art. At the end of the deadline 151 applicants spread over 41 countries handed in their plans. Thanks to all these artists for taking the effort of showing their works. For the staff it’s an extra stimulus to maintain and create ongoing opportunities for visual artists.
This year's PARK summer resident will be Bas Ketelaars. The PARK team looked at a balanced combination of a consistent practice, body of works and a good plan that would fit in the space. Bas Ketelaars' application was the most convincing.
He focuses on drawings in space, among others directly on the wall. Manual work and technology are alternated, different systems are placed not so much opposite to each other, but they produce the image together.
Bas Ketelaars will have the opportunity to stay seven weeks and work on his plan. This will result in an exhibition that is to be visited until Sunday September 10.
Opening reception is on Saturday August 26, 4pm. You are kindly invited.
